Teaching Profile

I teach Italian cinema and Italian language in conjunction with Italian political, cultural and social life.

Teaching Thoughts

I have been an educator for over twenty years. Since my early work as a sessional tutor to my most recent roles as Associate Dean, I have consistently been motivated by a strong belief in the power of transformative education. Ultimately, I am driven by my belief that education is fundamental to the well-being of ourselves and of society. To this end, as a teacher and as Associate Dean, my primary goal is to inspire others to share my commitment to teaching and learning, support them in developing their teaching practice, and create an inclusive and respectful community of learners at all levels of my college from students, teaching peers, professional staff and executive.

Having taught Italian language (at all levels), culture, literature and film, as well as courses in comparative literature and global studies for the last twenty years, I have much I would like to share. I pride myself on being a respectful, enthusiastic, innovative educator and believe that quality teaching can change students’ lives.  Over the years, I developed extensive experience in the development and delivery of new courses, modules and teaching materials in Italian studies, along with a wide range of experience in developing interdisciplinary courses and contributing to team-teaching and teaching materials in global studies, literary, cultural and film studies
